Know Issues
1. I get some blank rows without a result, even after waiting a few minutes. The request failed and you need to retry it by cutting and pasting the keyword in the cell again. Alternatively select “Reset” and “Run” again to re-scan all keywords. In addition you can also look at using the new RankTank Google Sheet Add-on with automated intelligent retries.
2. I am getting no results or not ranked for all keywords. Make sure you’re online, not blocking any sheet permission and that you’re only using your desired domains TLD e.g. domain.com and not http(s)://domain.com/page.html etc.
WIP: How does local results affect rankings?
The beta version of the local result keyword position rank checker tool allows you to set your region, language and local area (city, airport, municipality etc.). Importantly you can now pull all of the Google SERP local keyword rankings. We use the “uule” parameter or “near” parameter in order to filter by locale.

In conclusion the local search rankings tool is a complex work in progress, hence the beta tag. In short we use the Google Adwords location information to generate local search results based on the “uule” parameter. Most importantly this is the same parameter Google uses in it’s own SERPs. Should it not be possible to calculate the “uule” parameter we fall back to using the more general “near” parameter in order to filter the results.

This is indeed a very useful Google rank tracker. Congrats on the effort.
You only need to consider upgrading to version 28 if you experienced issues with keyword branded domains being detected as ranking incorrectly. For example: domains containing your domain name as keyword showed as ranking for your keyword instead of your own domain.
I need to know is this a paid tool or a free tool as i am having issues in finding a suitable free tool for keyword rank checking.
We now allow for 1000 free scans per domain per month. Limits reset every month.

I don’t get it, how does Google planner show you in real-time where your domain ranks for specific keywords and phrases?
Great tool, I would like to say this is awesome! I have been looking for a method to check my rankings as much as I would like without getting banned by Google. I do have one question for you though.

This tool is free with limitations on how many times a free domain can be scanned.
For several days, although I have updated version 27, it does not work. All keywords indicate the option to buy the pro version
We’re currently limiting free use due to Google limitations, this should again improve over time.
I am using paid version but it still takes slower and return https://mydomain/google-rate-limiting-your-account-try-again-later. Please resolve it
Hi Mary, This is a Google limit and not a RankTank limit. It happens to some accounts, we are looking into it and will release an update in the next few days.
One of the best tool of keyword research, I have ever used.
I’ve released v27 of the “free” keyword position tool, the new version has much more liberal limits and can again be used for free granted we don’t detect commercial use. Please upgrade to the new version to try it out 😀
Keyword position tool versions prior to 27 will cease working over time so I urge everyone to upgrade at their earliest convenience.
Is this tool paid or free yet?
Semi-free with lower limits, the Google keyword rank checker sheet add-on releasing soon will have more liberal limits and would be able to be used free for personal use.

I have a problem with the tracker. When I put in the keywords they all just turn to 0 MSV. How come this happens?
Did you add your SEMrush API key under Settings tab?
Try to log out of Google and back in, and then copy, delete and paste the keywords back in. That usually refreshes the IP address that the doc is using.
